Clouds outside Central Library

F1030031It’s such a refreshing sight -- stepping out of the central library, and I saw clouds, in formations that looks like fish scales and the magical touch of golden light landing on one of the buildings.

Field at NUS

I’ve been wanting to shoot this photo for every long! Every time i run at the field, I told myself that I need to take a shoot here. But, the point is, I don’t run very funny and surely I don’t run with a camera around my neck.

Darkroom Workshop

Held a black and white film developing session together with Charles over the weekend. It’s great to know what there are still many who have interest in traditional darkroom.

Here are some photos to share.

The last train home

F1010019 Empty MRT carriage on my way back

It’s great to be in an empty train carriage once in a while, play a little bossa nova tune, and think about what has been going on in my life.

Just hang in there!

F1020018

This week is a crazy one, with project deadlines & other works piling up.

I know I just have to hang in there. There is a very famous saying: “the easiest day was yesterday!”

How to get sharp photos in low light

F1010005
You are is a dimly-lit restaurant, the ambience looks great, you whipped out your camera and take a shot. The flash pop-ed & your photo looks horrible. You manually switch off the flash and try again. No more ugly flash but the photo looks blurred.  Sound familiar?
Other than carrying a tripod everywhere, controlling the way you breathe helps to reduce camera shake significantly. Ever heard about the breathing technique of a sniper they teach in army? This is exactly what you can use to reduce camera shakes!

Holding your breathe when pressing the shutter button may be way too instinct and we all thought that it’s the right way. WRONG!
“Breathe normal and steady, don't hold your breath … sharp shooters are trained to squeeze the trigger while exhaling as the body tends to relax during that portion of the breathing cycle”
